Long time no post! I am currently in new york on a very much needed vacation and guess what? it's gloomy and raining and cold. did i think to bring rain clothes? of course not! it's supposed to summer and i'm from the desert so the chance of rain in the summer never even crossed my mind even though i'm on the east coast. i have one boring outfit that is fit for rain and i already wore it yesterday, oh how i need to get better at packing.
side note, i just finished this book and if you love the '20s like i do, loved the great gatsby, and enjoy descriptions of intricate flapper dresses then this is the summer read for you! the whole time i was reading it i was thinking how much i would have loved living in that era, lived in new york city, and was from a wealthy family that had parties on their lawn until the wee hours of the morning every day.
looking at what i've written i honestly don't know what the point of this post was except to begin blogging again since my friend promised a movie night if i did! :D but of course that's not the only reason i decided to start again! next post i promise to include pictures and regular blogging stuff, but for today i'll just leave this little gem for your day :)
this is what my friends say i look like. well, at least they're cute right? :)

Dressin' Fancy Week!

*aheeem coughcough* (In deep, very charismatic voice):

Three girls, two white and one noticeably asian, unified by their love of sandals, embark on their journey to enlightenment through five days of dressing fancy. Impossible treks in high heels, painted blood red lips, and high waist belts are no easy feat, but somehow this remarkable trio will go

THE.

Technotic Hypnotic

Spawning from Alexander McQueen's "Armadillo" shoes made famous by Lady Gaga comes these new shoes from various high end designers that seem like they were the love child between a junkyard and debutante society! The outlandish has never been held back, but there's been a surge of crazy lookin shoes lately!

Miu Miu features beautiful pastel pumps with metal details like bows and flowers!

Balenciaga. HOLYCRAP, Balenciaga. I love you. I want your loafers with colorblock heels and plastic plates and wooden platform detailing. So darn beautiful.

In addition, there are also booties with crazy detailing that would make the outfit by itself. (Please remember to cover your lady bits though).

Techno is back! Metal detailing, super high heels, the sky's the limit people!

Oh wow, it's been a long time since our last post but part of it was not having time and I was still trying to figure out how to do this blogging thing! But real quickly for this post I just wanted to put some items I am really wanting for fall. Here, fall doesn't start until like late october so that's why I'm making this list even though it's practically fall :)

1. tights, tights, tights! Black, white, floral, lace, the fall colors in season right now, I want them all! All of these tights were found at topshop.com

2. Booties. Although I'm about 5'9 I really want to start wearing heels, even if it's just a small heel, i just love the look especially of these booties with some skinny jeans. The black ones can be found at solestruck.com and the gray ones at threadsence.com.

3. Chunky, cable knit sweaters. These sweaters look beyond comfortable and so easy to dress up or dress down with different accessories, I just love the way they look. The gray one is from topshop.com and the oatmeal colored one is from threadsence.com.

4. Cardigans! Like the sweaters are just super comfortable but also really versatile as far as dressing them up and dressing them down. Plus they keep you warm and in dress code for school :) All were found at gap.com.

5. No picture here, but more jeggings! The story of mine for jeggings is that I heard of them and thought ew, jeans and leggings who would think of such a thing? But seeing a review from a makeup guru changed my mind and I decided I would try on a pair. I went to ross, tried some on and immediately fell in love! I bought 3 pairs that day and now I want even more.

6. My last and final essential item for fall, again without a picture, is just a lot of basic knits and such for tons and tons of layering. I really want to experiment with layering this fall, having never really been a layerer but I love the look and want to give it a try :)

Well I hoped you enjoyed this semi-long post and that you found something you enjoyed from my list! More to come soon!

Hullo!

Hello worldwide internets! My name is Soyoung, and I am very happy to meet you! I am one of three collaborators for this wonderful piece of cyberspace and would love to introduce myself to you with totally relevant but random facts. Need to know.

1. Do you like chinese food? Yes I certainly do! Panda Express and the legit Chinese food. :) My family loves to cook!
2. Favorite comedian? I'd say Demetri Martin. His stuff's really awkward/nerd funny, which is right up my alley! And I mean, c'mon:
That's some funny stuff right there.

3. What kind of jelly do you like on your PB & J sandwich? I am very picky with the jelly- it can only be strawberry! Grape tastes like medicine, raspberry has too many seeds, and I haven't tried anything else..
4. Favorite ice cream? Mint chocolate chip fo shizzle. But it has to be green or else I won't eat it. Seriously.
5. Tell me a random fact: I'm only 5'1 and I'm 99% sure I've stopped growing.
6. Pick a movie quote: "She looks like she's 11 years old, dude." "I can wait! I solemnly swear to save myself for her." "I can see how that would be difficult for you." - From Kick A**. It was so funny, you had to see the whole thing. :)
7. Favorite quote: "For attractive lips, speak words of kindness..." -Sam Levenson (Also Audrey Hepburn's favorite poem!)
8. Name a couple of favorite colors: Black, Green (Jade, Emerald, and a Mossy Green), Red, and White!
9. Favorite Dave Matthews Band song (if you have one?) I actually lurve the whole Groo Grux King Album. Very snazzy.
10. Favorite online store: Modcloth.com!
11. Favorite music genre: It's always changing- it used to be punk/scene stuff, then alternative to big band/jazz, then pop, it's all over the place! I like all genres, but polka seems a little harrowing to me...
12. All-time favorite blogger: Just about every day I check http://www.keikolynn.blogspot.com/ . She seems so sweet and humble, I've always wanted to meet her!
12. Favorite clothing brand: Like, high end would be Alexander McQueen. His stuff was just art- I loved the theatricality of all of his clothes! Realistically, my favorite brand is anything you can get at a thrift store. :)
13. Describe your personal style in three words: Clean, classic, comfy. Alliteration WIN.

And that would be my survey! I hope you got some useful tidbits of information and check out some of the stuff I put. They're good. No biased opinion.

First time bloggin' and a survey! :)

Hello bloggers and I guess a welcome to the Sandal Girls blog. I am totally new to this whole blogging experience yes, I read blogs but I have never been a blogger. I guess I'll just skip all the boring stuff and get right to the survey! My name is Sierra by the way, and I am but one of three bloggers on this blog (that's a mouthful). And now the little get-to-know your blogger survey :)

1. Do you like chinese food? Ohhhh yes!
2. Favorite comedian? Don't really watch comedians but if comedian like actors count then Jim Carrey
3. What kind of jelly do you like on your PB & J sandwich? Usually just grape but peach is also delicious
4. Favorite ice cream? Cappuchino crunch, really anything with coffee ice cream or chocolate
5. Tell me a random fact: My first best friend's name was Nino. I came up with this fact so quickly because we have had to do random facts every day in english for the past three weeks
6. Pick a movie quote: "Hey James Bond, in America we drive on the right side of the road."
7. Favorite quote: "Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible!' " -Audrey Hepburn
8. Name a couple of favorite colors: pink, blue, aquamarine
9. Favorite Dave Matthews Band song (if you have one?) I have heard of the band but don't listen to them avidly so no favorite song
10. Favorite online store: asos
11. Favorite music genre: I really like it all except classical, country, screamo, death metal. Okay so maybe not all. I guess I'm more alternative rock, pop, songs on the radio, and anything you can dance to.
12. All-time favorite blogger: I don't follow too many blogs but I always look for new posts by abutterflybyday, check them out!
12. Favorite clothing brand: I like a lot, and I mostly shop at store like ross, tj-maxx, so I get a lot of different brands rather than stick with just one.
13. Describe your personal style in three words: simple/casual, stylish, and black (although I don't wear black all the time, I do have a lot of it. But, I'm trying to buy more colors for my wardrobe).

And that was the short, sweet, simple survey which hopefully gave you a little glimpse of me :) More posts will follow not just from me but the other contributors probably mostly about fashion and also life in general. Well, bye for now!
